x2 Tunisian knit Rib Stitch Tutorial: Free Crochet Pattern and Video Tutorial
If you don’t want to make the Mosty Toasty Keyhole Scarf, here’s a simple pattern for the x2 Tunisian crochet ribbing. If you’d like a visual to go along with the written pattern, you can follow along with my youtube tutorial below.
What you’ll need
any weight yarn
any Tunisian crochet hook 1 or 2 sizes larger than the recommended hook size for the yarn weight you’re using
scissors and darning needle to sew in ends
Abbreviations
ch: chain
st: stitch
TPS: Tunisian purl stitch
TKS: Tunisian knit stitch
sc: single crochet
Please note: this pattern is written in US terminology
Now let’s start the pattern.
Step 1: Ch in multiples of 3. For the scarf shown in the picture, I chained 21.
Step 2: (First loop on your hook counts as your first ch). * TPS in next st. TKS in next 2 sts. * Repeat from * to * until the end. Work your ending Tunisian crochet st. Return pass.
For help with working end stitches, check out this section of my beginner’s tutorial here.
Step 3: Continue to repeat Step Two until you’ve reached your desired length. Then work a sc bind off in your final row.
That’s it. Super simple right? Don’t forget to tag me on instagram @justtheworsted and use #justtheworstedcrochet and #mostytoasty_jtw so I can see your lovely makes. Until next time!
